The All New 2014 GMC Sierra

In a few short months we’ll be seeing the all new Sierras drop and we cannot wait! Newly designed, the 2014 GMC Sierra is hosting a bevy of changes both inside and out, prompting many to call this the most evolved and powerful truck for GMC yet. The new, bolder body design catches the eye like no Sierra to date and draws anyone inside to a completely refurbished interior. By adding the most fuel efficient V8 motors to an industry leading list of standard features the 2014 GMC Sierra is surely not to disappoint even the most demanding of truck owners.

In comparison to recent versions of the Sierra, GMC is removing the “work truck” from the title and moving towards a streamlined approach from start to finish. General Motors wants anyone to know that Sierra means “hard work”.  By introducing GM’s award winning Intellilink system into a new, sturdier dash means that any and everyone using a Sierra has the tools necessary to get the job done.

New to the 2014 GMC Sierra
·        New, broader engine options give the consumer the most fuel efficient, powerful motors yet

·         Chrome step built into the bumper provides the easiest access to the truck bed to date

·         Rear camera and an industry leading safety package

·         8” Intellilink display built into center dashboard

·         New interior materials make for a sturdier, more comfortable ride

The 2014 GMC Sierra is not a truck to be missed; as the largest GM dealer east of the river, Scranton Motors will be your source for the latest news on this exciting addition to the GMC family.

Springtime Driving Tips

Springtime Driving Tips

Now that we have made it through the worst of the New England weather it’s time to break out the flip flops and get ready for the warmer weather. What do you do to prepare for the spring and summer months? Maybe you go shopping for new shorts and tank tops, or perhaps you work on your tan but don’t forget your car needs to be ready too!  We have come up with a few tips on how to make sure your car is ready for those summer road trips and warm driving weather.

1.      Remember that spring showers bring flowers, but they also bring wet driving conditions. Slow down on slick roads! Even a small amount of water can mix with oil and grease on the road and make for slippery driving surface.

2.      Warm weather brings out motorcyclists, bicyclists and joggers. Share the road and be aware of your new friends!

3.      New spring potholes are always a concern. Water from rain and snow gets underneath the pavement and creates cracks and potholes that are ready to slow down your summer fun. Potholes can throw your car out of alignment.
4.      Tune up! Don’t just tune your radio into the summer hits make sure your car is tuned too. Get your vehicles into a carwash and get rid of all the dirt and salt from the winter. Check your oil and rotate your tires too! If you would like to schedule service with us please click HERE!

5.      Allergy season is upon us! Be aware of the medications you are taking for allergies. Many of the over the counter medications have side effects that can impair your driving abilities.

We are sure you will agree that summer road trips are the best!  Whether it’s a trip across the country or just to the local beach you and your car should be ready for the journey. Here are some helpful guidelines for your trips.

·         Sign up for a roadside assistance program such as Onstar! They are smart to have when traveling. They can provide towing and battery service as well as fuel delivery and lockout service. When you’re far from home roadside assistance is a great safety net!

·         Bring cash as well as credit cards. Do not assume you will always have access to an ATM. Also taking money out from your bank beforehand can really help with keeping those ATM fees at bay.

·         Invest in a navigation system! Many new vehicles have navigation systems in them already but if yours does not make sure you purchase one. Being far from home is one thing, but being far from home and lost is a totally new game!

We hope that these tips will help you have a safe and fun summer season! Now get out there and enjoy this beautiful weather!
